Problem starting up
It seems like I may have a bad starter, but I'm no expert so I wanted to see what everyone else thinks. I first had the problem when the car was still warm, like if I stopped for gas. I would get in and turn the key and there would be a click, but the engine would not turn over. The dash lights come on and everything. I have never gotten stuck somewhere, the car almost always starts on the second try if it didn't on the first, but yesterday I had the same problem when I first took the car out in the morning. Leads me to believe is slowly getting worse. Anyone ever had this problem? And will I do damage to anything else if I wait for whatever is broken to die completely before replacing it? BTW, the car runs great once it's started up.

Could be cables too, dropping too much voltage. Had the problem on my civic.
Get yourself a set of jumper cables and run one from the ground on the battery to the block, or frame when it happens again. If the car starts right up theres your problem.
When it happened to me I was real busy at work and didn't have time to pick up a new cable so for two weeks or so when she wouldn't start I'd pop the hood and pull out the jumpers. People would come buy asking if I needed a jump. "Nope I'm fine" Hook up the one cable, start the car, take the jumpers off and drive away. Kind of a wierd sight.

Cool, I'll try the jumper cables. Is the ground on the battery the one that isn't the positive, or is that negative and the ground is somewhere else? Only problem is that it still doesn't happen every time. I might have to find a way to leave the jumpers in there and see if it stops happening. Do I need to worry about shorting anything if I'm only using the ground?

Ground and negative are the same (unless your driving an Austin Healey, you think we have electrical problems).
As long as you go black/negative/ground to block or frame, you won't short anything.
