225/50/15 on my 15-inch Phone Dials ?
I want to upgrade to 226/50/15 as opposed the stock 215/60/15 on my 15x7 dials. I like the looks when the tires bulge out a little out of the rim.
Is this possible? Anyone running this size ?

Sorry to get a little off topic but while we are on the topic of the 15 inch phone dials...are the phonedials from a '87 924S also 15x7? I am currently running Pirelli P6's 195/65/15 front and rear, and personally i would like a slightly lower profile tire. Would i be able to run something larger?

I run 225/50-15s, have been for about a year, several auto-xs and moutain sprints
They stick great...
These are Toyo Proxes, the cheap ones (not the T1-S or whatever it is), were like 85 a piece and have lasted pretty good too.

I ran 225/50/15's on my 85.5 and it was one of the best improvements I made on that car. They also looked much better than the tall 215/60's.

pete - hate to break it to you pete but 225/50's are 115mm tall, and 215/60's are 107.5mm tall. the new tires you got were taller! albeit wider i'm currently looking for some good tires to go on my set of 4 8"x15 Fuchs...

We in 944-spec run 225/50 R15 tires in 15x7 Phone dials or cookie cutters.
They fit just fine and work great.
Here is a pic...
The stock wheel on the 924S was a 15x6 phone dial. I have heard of optional 15x7 wheels for the rear. You can fit 225/50 R15 tires on 15x7 wheels on the 924S. Fine for the back, but tight in front. Need small spacer to clear the front springs, but too big and you will rub the fender.
