good place to buy wheels?
Hey all, I'm looking to get some 17s or 18s (chrome) on my 944. Do you know of some good manufacturers. I'm more concerned with style over speed. Also what do you suggest, 17 or 18?

concerned with style over speed, eh. i'd consider a set of flat dish or d-90s chromed. or you can get newer 993 or 996 wheels in chromed finishes. replicas are cheaper/heavier (there's your style over speed).
if you're really concerned with style over speed, you should probably look into something more ricey, as they have plenty of 'style' and usually no speed. Porsches come with style and speed both in high supply already.
-Michael- everyone has different taste, to each his own. also, dont ruin a good pcar

A Porsche is a LUXURY sportscar...ricers are not (save for the NSX maybe).
Yes I agree to each his own as long as you don't ruin a P-car...but its not like I'm going to be putting fake RUF stickers on it to make it go faster!
So do 911/993 wheels fit on a 944 without spacers or adjustments?

lol dont take offense man, but chrome... too much for me. the 993/996 wheels fit without spacers on late offset cars, like you ahve. seriously , if yo ugo aftermarket, go porsche or replica wheels, so that the look is kept, i'm probably an anti-chrome exremist, it does look good in some applications, i.e. black cars. i dont like on red though, i think silver, or black center and polished lips looks better a la fuchs.

me, me, me! buy my rims. they are chrome and i don't really like them because i'd rather have lighter wheels. really they need to be rechromed but if i was you, i'd just strip the chrome and get them polished. if you want, i could do this and then send them to you in perfect shape. see, the chrome is heavy and polishing still gives off a very shiny look. the rims are antera type 123.
