88 924s seats in 87 944?
Mounted the seats from my totaled 88' 924s in my 87' 944.
The 944 interior is pretty rough(thanks to the previous owner, on a hot day you can almost get a contact high just opening the door and getting in), The 924s has near perfect condition interior(carpet, porsche script seats, ect. less than 80k on the car) but has a trashed body and is being hauled to a salvage yard due to the fact that I am moving from Iowa to Colorado in the next week.
Unfortunatly the 944 has the seat belt receptacles mounted on the sides of the seat, the 924s has the seat belt receptacles mounted on the center tunnel. Trying to find a solution so I can stay legal.
I found alot of info in this thread (https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-944-951-968-forum/85534-are-924-seat-rails-the-same-as-944-a.html) but it is 10+ yrs old.
Any ideas?

I think you can remove that same part from your old 944 seats.
But remember that when they stuck the belt receiver onto the seat, they reinforced the seat attachment to the frame by adding 2 bolts (6 total instead of 4). Also, the 85.5+ 944 seats use m8 bolts, no m6 like 924s and early 944s.
I wouldn't want to drill a hole in the tunnel, either! So I'd go with the 3-point harness.

Thanks for all the help and the link to the parts. I may just take the brackets off the original seats, I could always drill another set of holes in the seat rail to put the last screws in.
Along the same lines, how hard would it be to switch the seat frames. The seats from the 924s are manual, black Porsche script, and in great condition including the padding. Whereas the seats from the 944 are in rough shape including the padding but are fully powered except for heat. While the manual seats are nice and light and comfortable to sit in, it would be nice to have the height adjustment that is on the power seats so that my head doesn't rub the ceiling when I'm wearing a baseball cap.

The manual seats are lower than a power seat can go, so if you want head room, don't use the power seats.
The manual seats could be equipped with height spacers from the factory. I have some of these spacers, they get sandwiched between the seat and the rail.
You'll have to enlarge the holes in the 924 seat rails for the m8 bolts. Then you'll have to find some m8 bolts with small enough heads to fit into the trench of the 924 rails. Maybe allen head bolts.
Early and late rails are different, but I've never tried to see if an early rail would bolt to a late seat, etc.
