Default Windshield repair???

Anybody have any experience with windshield repair? I have a small crack, not chip, in the corner of my windshield. I called my insurance company and they will send someone out tomorrow to REPAIR the windshield. Is this going to work, or are they just wasting time?

If it does work, it's free to me. If not, and they have to replace the windshield, it's gonna cost me $250.

I have a long crack just about dead center and they will no fix that one. Yours sounds fixable from what the glass companies told me. They can do a pretty good job on those cracks. I tried a repair kit from the auto parts store on mine and it helped a little but the crack is still there.

$250 aint bad considering all the estimates I got for new glass were from $500-$700.

The $250 is my deductable. My only concern, if repairing does normally work, is that the crack goes from the edge of the glass on the side, to the edge on the bottom. The crack is smaller than a dollar, which they said is no problem. I wouldn't mind if this works, since it would be free.

I figured that was deductible. I'm only carrying liability on mine for now, so glass is not covered. If you have airbags the glass is more expensive.
If they break it doing the repair would you still have to pay the deductible? Some companies would let it slide.

I don't know what would happen if they broke it. Companies usually seem pretty good about glass replacement though.

Apparently you DON'T have it now, but there is an insurance option called FULL GLASS COVERAGE under your Comprehensive coverage.

Ask your agent about it NOW; for the next time.

Really??? You can get special insurance to cover glass??? Who would have thought it?

Seriously though. I must have never checked that option box when applying online for insurance. It's not that expensive, and it will be added after this repair JIC.
