Default funny vacuum lines

ok im almost finished putting my car back together. unfortunately, i am stuck on one thing. there is a vacuum hose connection under the intake manifold tube to the #4 cylinder with two long stems and a small stem, and has a red thingy that slides over one stem and plugs the tiny stem. what vacuum lines connect to this? i really cant find any vacuum lines that are yet to be connected........... please help me

I can't tell from your description, but here is a vac diagram. If you don't find this one helpful, there shoud also be a diagram right above your washer fluid tank in the engine bay.

aha, its the one between the fuel vapor purge system and the throttle body.

It's a temperature valve for the purge system. It opens when it gets to 170 degrees, IIRC, and opens the purge system to suck the vapor out of the carbon canister.
