Angry What kinda chips are these??? Lil Help Danno

When I bought the car, the PO told me that he had installed APE Stage II Chips. I opened the DME today, and was surprised to see a different chip.
The chip has a silver sticker on it which read 944 T 88 DME. I peeled the sticker off a little to see what I could see. The chip had the following on it:

M27C64A
-15FI
B880B
9832E5
SINGAPORE

Any idea as to what kinda chips these are? When I bought the car, there were 2 chips in the ashtray, obviousley old, rusted chips. I'm starting to think that these chips are from an 88 951..
Any help would be much appreciated.

A picture might help, but "aftermarket" chips will have a round "window" in the center, while stock chips will not.

It's been a while since I had to decode chip markings, but on the face of it I would say you have a Motorola device in the 2700 family of CMOS 64K ROMS (Read Only Memory), so I'm thinking EPROM.

Once an OEM has finalized their code it is sent to the chip manufacturer where custom ROMS are made. Making custom ROMS is actually cheaper than buying an equal number of EPROMS and then "burning" the code into each one.

Those numbers are very similar to my stock chips, which also has the window in the center.

hell no! i've been running stock chips? these feel like aftermarket chips, they kick in at 4000rpm and give me hella boost from there. I'm gonna call me PO and ask him for a receipt/proof of aftermarket chips.

Is that "one" chip the DME chip? The window on my DME chip have little blue streaks in it. Same with you adrial?
