Anyone want a 951 to park in there driveway???
Like I have posted befor I will be going back to school in the Harrisonburg area. I am living in an apartment and the complex will only let me bring one car. I would love to have my porsche down there because it is an amazing place to go on drives. Lots of nice twist roads through the shanandoa vally. There is a gravel lot about 2 miles from my place that I could park it in, but it is a visitor lot for another place and will most likely be filled with drumk party goers most nights. I don't care much about little door dings and scratches since my paint sucks so bad, but I am woried about things like my sound system and seats being stolen. I could put my car cover over it but I think that might draw more attention to it. Any ideas? Anyone near there with a little extra space I could rent?

What about a benvolent person for his P Car parking?? You might find "garage rentals" in the local paper. I've done this before and stored a car for a few years. Sometimes pretty cheap, especially for pensioners looking for a few extra bucks renting out an unused garage. Or place a WANT AD in the local community paper - cheap and effective.
Good luck - but what ever you do, don't park it outdoors 2 miles away!

drive a bit out of town, find some big property with a barn, and offer the owner $300 if you can park it there for the school year. Be wary of storage lots....I know many people who have had jet skis, 4-wheelers, etc stolen from enclosed, locked, storage units, and the owner of the complex couldn't give a damn. Granted, thats here in the houston area, but still, its amazing some of the stories I've heard. Many of them sound like inside jobs.
Also try the local chapter of PCA....I bet you can find someone who has space (maybe even covered) for you to park the car. Maybe run an classified ad in the local PCA mag with a "help a poor college student with his P-car addiction" title and I'll bet you can get a free spot for it even. Afterall, its harrisonburg, not manhattan.......there's got to be lots of places close to school with plenty of space. Don't park it in the visitor lot....it WILL get trashed or broken into, even with the cover on it. You know, all those bitter JMU students still mad they weren't smart enough to get into UVa (hahaha.....guess were I went)

I'd love to help you out, but between my two cars, my stepmom's Carrera that I am now babysitting, my roommate's 951 that doesn't go anywhere, his other two cars and my other two roommates' cars, I think the HOA (and the other neighbors) would get pretty ticked if you parked it here.
Which is a shame, because we're coming up with quite a spiffy collection of P-cars!

Thanks all, I guess I'll just leave it at my parents (2 hours from where I'm moving) till I find a storage place or someone with a little extra room near by. I don't think I will have a hard time getting people to drive it down to me for a weekend.
