Question What is this?

The protective pans are now off the car (hopefully changing o2 sensor) and i was looking under it with a trouble light and noticed some tubing hanging loose.

The opening on the left looks like it comes from the back of the front fog light... and then the hose arched up and was not on the second opening (right arrow).

That might be the hose that provides cool air to your alternator. It's best to connect it b/c heat kills alternators!

The end with the hose clamp goes to the part with the red arrow, while the other end just fits snuggly onto the plastic shroud that extends down from the alternator. Just look up where the right red arrow is pointing and you should see the black shroud.

My vote is the alternator cool air supply hose. Go down to the auto parts store and pick up some stainless hose clamps and reattach it. The hose in my "S" is missing completely, I am going to fashion one out of aircraft scat hose.

That's it. I got one last week at Zim's $8. Basically the same as manifold heat riser tube for the airbox on carb. cars.
