What year is the donor car? If it has the .829 5th gear I'd be interested in that.

It's a 1987, unsure of the gearing though.

I also know of a place I could get a 924 4.11 ring and pinion if anyone wanted it.

I'm pretty sure the 87 had taller gears, especially ones with a 4.11 final.
If you had the code I could look it up.

Interesting link, thanks. Can anyone comment on how much this would actually decrease failure? The main point seems to be eliminating stress concentration points, but the surface area between shear planes is slightly lowered which would be negative.

Porsche does it to all gears in the 996 turbo trans. I detailed the gears in my 951 trans last summer when I rebuilt it. Here's one of the gears;



I didn't radius the R+P gears tho. Now I'm worried about them.
