Default Cluster Lighting Inop

Back story, I removed the cluster to repair my speedometer with new capacitors, a new resistor, and a new odometer gear. Removal, disassembly, repair, reassembly, and install went perfectly. The entire cluster works as it should and the speedometer and odometer work perfectly. Tonight, I turned the lights on to find that the cluster lighting does not function properly. It seems as though only the three bulbs that light the gauges that are on the bottom of the cluster assembly are not functioning.

I checked the fuse in the fuse panel and it was fine. I replaced all three bulbs and still nothing. The breadboard on the cluster looks fine. The dimmer works perfectly as do all other interior and exterior lights. I'm out of ideas. Any help would be most appreciated. Here are some pics of what I'm looking at:

The only odd thing is that this little guy gets HOT when the lights are switched on:

After messing with the circuit board, I was able to get the lighting working properly. However, my speedometer and odometer no longer work. I just can't win, lol.

The speedometer input, pin B14 was pushed back away from its seated position in the connector. I was able to re-seat it and now everything is back to normal. The only thing that bothers me is that I believe my temp gauge is not working properly. The needle never goes past 1/4 on the gauge.

mine used to stay on second white line and never varied at all but after I hit a fox and had cooling system issues it now fluctuates a lot more. As long as it rises from cold to the normal operating mark, as car warms up, I wouldn't be too worried. Are fans kicking in as usual ?

Yup, the fans work as they should. The fan kicks on when it is supposed to based on coolant temperature. And the fan will also kick on at a lower speed when the engine is shut off with the engine warm. My early 85 does this as well.
