Lets compile a cross-reference for Porsche/Audi/VW Part #'s
Well, the title pretty much says it all, I think it would be beyond awesome to have a list of interchangeable parts to make a dent in the cost of such things. I am looking at a 924 project and would like to know which parts I can buy from VW and Audi, but I wonder how many will interchange in the other types.

I think there are a few BMW parts that also have some compatability. Last time I got new rear wheel bearings I think it was a BMW part number... I am very interested in compiling a list as well. For more cost efficient and compatable parts for my Porsche, and for a VW project. The Type 1-4 V dub guys have huge compatability and upgrade lists. But those would mostly be retro grades for our purposes. I know that everything from 944 brakes and rear controll arms etc... can be used in Bugs. As for the more recent stuff, and what we can use on our cars? I don't know...

The 924 Steering rack is from the VW Scirocco, the steering wheel hub is Standart VW Golf(rabbit) 1., i bought a VW golf adapter for the steering wheel for my 944.
The 924, and early 944 A-arm is VW Golf 1, except for the mountings for the anti sway bar.

I have seen these in VW LT type transporters and MB's of those years as well.
Think that the Audi 100 (USA 2000?) version with replacable filter would be an nice upgrade.

There is a cross-reference already running. The part numbers we use on our cars work for VW and Audi as well. I found that I can get a price from the porsche dealer; call the vw dealer next door and get it for 1/2 price!
