Default My left door has a click sound every time the door is opened

Hi All,

I'm 944/1 newbie from Thailand. I just got this car 3 days ago and I'm trying to restore my 1982 RHD 944/1 2.5L. I have a question about “door stop bracket”.

My left door has a "click" sound every time the door is opened. I found out that the “door stop bracket” on the left door is not the same as on the right door. Also the “hinge pin” is obviously not stock. Attached below is the picture.

I don’t know if the previous owners changed it, or not, but I want to keep my car stock.

Please advise if the “door stop bracket” on my left door is stock or not. Please be reminded that my car is RHD and I need a stock “door stop bracket” for my left door (my passenger side).

I’m not sure if the click sound comes from this bracket or the hinge pin.

Thank you,
Aey

Wrong bracket, wrong attaching bolts too.

I wonder if you can try the bracket from the right side (driver's) on the left side (passenger) but just flipping it around? If yes then it will tell you if the noise is the bracket/bolts or something else.

Thank you for your reply. Just have a close look and confirmed that the noise is coming from the wrong bracket!

New bracket is on the way ;-)

I think you will want to replace the bracket and the pin - both are available - I don't know what other cars use them, it would be expensive to ship from here to Thailand, I think so if you can find one locally that would be best.
