Default Power steering vains

Viewed Travis' rebuild video and threads regarding rebuilding. Went fine but was unable to get full P/S. Bled as directed. Removed pump again and found a vain missing. I was sure they were all there when I put it back together. Could a vain fall into some channel when I put the cap that goes over the vains?

even with a missing vane you should bet decent pumping action, but look around for it, it really can't fall out unless you did something really weird. if I remember right, they are phenolic so you can make a new one or buy a new one from a rebuilder (or just get a rebuilt pump). I think I have a spare pump, but I'm on the wrong coast for you.
