Good time to remove the inner panel to inspect/clean/repair/lubricate the moving parts, including the motor
Usually you can clean the motor fairly easily and blow junk out of it with keyboard duster.
The window felts get worn and hold dirt that will scrape up the window. They need replacing every once in a while. I made the mistake of getting elcheapo
outer felts and had a heck of a time putting them on. Get some decent ones.

It started working when a friend tapped on the motor.
Since then, one time it didn't work for a few seconds, then it started again on its own. Also, it's a bit slower than the driver's side window, taking almost twice as long to go up.
I just bought this car so I have quite a few higher-priority issues to take care of, like timing belt, water pump, and so on. So for now, as long as the window works, buying parts for it is low on my list of things to do. However, in the meantime I will most likely be doing the maintenance items that 968 GUY suggested.
968 GUY, by "felts" do you mean the long strips, one on the inside and one on the outside, at the base of the window opening, or top of the door panel, that the glass slides through on its way up or down? I'm just trying to make sure I know what you're talking about. If that's what you're talking about, I do need to replace those, they're practically non-existent on my car. (I've seen those parts referred to as "scrapers" on the site where I will probably get mine, 944online.com.)
