Default 944 cabriolet - fit rear seats???

Hi All
I have a 1989 944 cabriolet that does not have rear seats fitted from the factory. I do love my car very much and my partner and I used to enjoy Sunday drives, but we now have 2 small children which makes the Sunday drive a bit hard. Is it possible to fit the rear seats from a 944 with factory seats or a 968? I have access to a lathe and welding equipment if required.

Thanks

Daniel

soft top rear seats pop up on eBay every once and a while. About a month ago,La dismantlers had some black ones and I saw some blue ones also. Be patient and keep searching. I need a grey set.

for the bottom it is the standard back seat bottom from a car with the split folding option. The tops are specific to the cab.

In my family drives with the kids in the back was a hard sell since there are only lap belts in the back of the cab and my wife was not cool with that. She did allow city drives but no higher speed highway. No use in arguing with her. They are older now and will only squeeze in the back if they really want a lift somewhere.

Try posting a WTB here as there are a couple of guys that have parted cabs over the years and may have the seats.

Good luck
Mark

So the problem I see is that Porsche seems to have installed a luggage shelf with a tie down rod on top of the two normal humps that the bucket seats have. Does anyone know what is involved in removing this?
