Door lock problem
Good morning everybody
see link for a diagram http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...section=804-05
sorry for the auto Atlanta ref its all i could find i don't have a printer here
Problem the lock assy. was all gunked up and full of crap and was like stuck and would not work.
I pulled part # 29 & #28 out to clean and inspect. a good spraying and scrubbing got it freed up.
My problem is when i go to screw them back together there is a 1/8" gap and its loose and moves.
Its like there should be a shim there or the screws are stopping short. Any clues to why.
Also i found #42 some kind of weight in the door bottom, where does that go.
To give back a little see pics of a door handle fix for no dollars, ifr i can make it happen.
well no joy on the pics.
tks in advance Gary

latch
You need to make sure the small tab on 29 engages in the receiver hole in 28 those two parts should mate up close with only a sheetmetal thickness of the inside door between. I can't remember 42 may be some type of counterweight.

Problem solved
The threads are interference fit and my battery operated impact didn't bring it home and messing with it buggered up the threads even more.
Ran a tap in to clean up the threads bingo...
tks Gary
