Default Instrument light bulb gremlin in my 1990 944S2

Hello all

Just replaced the three larger bulbs in my instrument gauge with OEM recommended amperage and now all three don't work at all. All the other light bulbs work as they should, all extremely dim of course, but the dimmer works. These three new bulbs, however, are totally nonop.

I checked and rechecked the bulbs and their socket mounts, even ordered spare sockets.

Checked the appropriate fuse in the main fuse box as well, it's good.

So do I have to start chasing down the circuit ribbons now? I have the correct factory wiring diagram, so I guess that would be my next option, after replacing the bulb sockets.

Anybody else come across this particular breed of gremlin?

Thanks!

Never mind.
I tracked it down to poor connection quality between the connectors and the board. A little contact spray and voila. For the moment! :-)
