Default wiring harness, what does this clip do?

ok the bundle that goes into the passanger footwell. There is one that clips into the klr, one for the dme, the klr vac, the red clip and a small white clip and there is also a black female end clip, its a 12 point clip but has 6 wires in it, the NA doesn't have it, do you know what its for?

A pic could help here.

The only 12 pin connector I know of in there is a jumper/diagnostics box. It should look similar to the the 12 pin box in the engine bay by the test port.

Hope that helps!

it looks a lot like the fuse box to wiring harness clip, but i KNOW the 944 doesn't have it, could it be the air bag thing?would the brain for the airbag be in there or something?

I know the clip you are talking about, I haven't gotten that far yet. If I recall, I traced it out as going to the instrument cluster.

Factory alarm? My '87 doesn't have a factory alarm, but there are connectors for the alarm in the passenger foot well above the DME. You should see three connectors, a black multi-pin connector for the module and two two-pin connectors. One is for power and one is for the alarm horn.
