manned land vehicle?

ThrustSSC has a measured mile of 766mph, or thereabouts. Whell driven record is a lot slower. Unmanned record is something like mach 8.

Danger island get's it. Was on a show on TLC last night. They showed one going by the control tower at night. Talk about impressive.
