Default where to get 7MM spacers for rear wheels?

GREAT CAR!!!
Where did you get 7mm spacers for your wheels.
I have just bought two 944's - '85 in white in my possession now and '85.5 in Red that I need to pick up next week.
Watching your car with interest.

In the recent months, I have done the following:

-installed a only944.com firewall brace
-new master and slave cylinders
-lowered the rear end via the eccentric bolt
-installed 7mm spacers on the rear wheels
-new hood struts from sierramadrecollection.com
-put on my 2.5 sticker from drivingwhileawesome.com

2.5 sticker!

hood stays up now

sitting nice and level

firewall brace is somewhere back there

7mm spacers bring the wheels out a little bit

If i havent said it before, i have to say it now. This is one of the best looking 944s out there.
Probably the best 44 NA. I'm not a big fan of those door cards and the RS style things but i can live with that as the mod looks well made.

To **** at the troll a couple more liters, i could give countless examples of narrow body transaxles, 924NAs and 924 turbos that well match the classy looks, properly made mods, and excellent maintenance of this 944.
As a matter of fact there is one 924 turbo on Fuchs wheels that will give any 924/44/68 a run for its money, looks-wise and performance-wise...but out of respect for the owner of this great looking 944 i will not pollute the topic with pictures.

To me, the body style and engine size is a choice, some prefer and love the narrow body of the 924 over the 944, i love both, but lately i've fallen in love with the 924 and turbo looks so i tend to like that more than the 944NA.

PS: congrats on the wheel fitment, this thing makes or breaks a cars look.

Thanks @Morghen.

Glad you like my car...for the most part. I have always had a lot of respect for all cars and Porsches. I have loved the 944 since I was a little kid, and I learned how to drive stick shift in my dad's 1984 944 when I was 12 years old. My car is slow, but it is well sorted, and it drives and handles nice and I'm having a lot of fun making it my own.
I don't know how this became a thread about weather of not a 944 is better than a 924, but I couldn't care less.

Pick any car and its slow compared to some other car/thing. Slow and fast are relative terms
Enjoy your 944 !

Thanks morghen,

You are right, and I have just as much fun driving my 944 or 914 as I do driving new GT2's and Aventadors.

BTW, I love your 924 and prefer the looks of a 924 with GT flares over the 944.

Do those hub spacers require new wheel studs, or will they work with stock?

1986 944 NA, if that matters.

They worked with my stock studs. I still had about 6 full turns on the lug nuts.

Cool, thanks!

I bought a set from your convenient link. People have told me I should stance the rear out a bit to fill the wheel arch.

I really need to stop buying mods for this car.

Edit: I'm sorry, did you say that you drive GT2s and Aventadors?

I have been thinking about doing a console delete for awhile now, and I finally got the guts to make it happen. I have always liked the look and feel of a car without a console, ever since I had my first Porsche 914. Even though the 944 has a center tunnel because of the drive shaft, it frees up a lot of knee room and I am stoked with how it turned out.

As you can see, I cut the console right under the HVAC panel eliminating the din for the stereo. After making the cut, I rounded the corners and filled them, followed by a few coats of textured paint to give it a finished off look. I also added a plate of carbon fiber to the bottom of the console to give it a little strength that was missing after hacking it apart.

I don't have power mirrors, I eliminated my rear wiper and don't care about the fader **** for the stereo, so those buttons are all gone. I have yet to relocate the sunroof button, but I will probably mount it on the bottom side of the console.

In place of the stereo, I am running a small amp that I purchased on Amazon for about $33 (
Amazon.com: Lepy LP-2024A+ Hi-Fi Audio Amplifier Stereo Power Amplifier Car Amplifier with Power Supply, 3A Power, 20W x 2 RMS, Black: Electronics Amazon.com: Lepy LP-2024A+ Hi-Fi Audio Amplifier Stereo Power Amplifier Car Amplifier with Power Supply, 3A Power, 20W x 2 RMS, Black: Electronics
). The amp is wired to the ignition for power and I am very happy with it so far.

With the console out, there was some missing carpet on the center tunnel, so I bought a yard of the non backed carpet (http://www.yourautotrim.com/black7.html) from my favorite online upholstery store. This stuff doesn't match the factory carpet...it's actually a lot like the material on a dash mat, but it looks good and is really easy to conform to the shape of the center console.

Have you thought about recovering the dash? The rest of the interior is 10/10, awesome work.

Woah I love that, I may have to do it myself.. Wonder if a cut to fit spare hatch carpet in the right color/texture would do a good job covering the center like that..

Your yellow gauges rock too, my favorite for sure. I have the green gauges with 160 mph speedo too but I do like the yellow better..

Thanks! I plan on recovering the dash, just haven't had the time to get around to it.

Glad you like it! I really like the yellow gauges as well, they are part of the reason that I wanted a pre 85.5 944.

Even though i own a turbo now, i am still very particular about the NA 944. Equally as fun to drive but the turbo is a bit more rewarding. Very nice 944 you have there though.

Thanks!

I like all 944s, but I was specifically looking for an early car when I bought this one. I had these type of modifications in mind and figured that they would suite an early car better than a late car.
