My car is Velvet red, 89 951. I haven't seen any other cars out there that color. Does anybody have any stats on the production numbers by color? I think this color is very rare. Any help would be much appreciated. I believe it is LM3U

My S2 is a blood red color almost. Zyclam Red as they call it.

Velvet red was a colour code only available in 1989 and 1990. Not many 1989/1990 944 series cars sold. Therefore likely to a relatively rare color (similar to, say, Linen.) I have never seen any sources of 944 production by color, except for the 1988 Turbo S.

Unless you bought yours in Tulsa, OK, then there is another Velvet Red 1989 951 out there. This one had 60k miles and was immaculate! I almost bought it a year and a half ago. Had linen interior.

I bought mine in AZ. So maybe there is two? Anyone know who has it? Still pretty rare...

I also have an '89 951. Velvet red exterior-- original paint with linen interior. Just pushing 120K miles, and just blew a head gasket.....oh joy!

I have one too. I've seen a few others outside of this board over the past couple years, but always Velvet Red Metallic over Linen.

My 89 951 IS that champagne gold color.

My 87 NA was that color and I think it is the best color the 944 has ever seen. It's actually called Almond/Beige.

My new color is that metallic midnight blue, looks really nice with the C2 17's.
