Default Stainless Steel Cat-Back Exhaust

I'd like to install a stainless steel cat-back exhaust system on my '89 944NA.

It currently has a MSDS header installed and high flow catalytic converter with 2.5" tubing.

I'm interested in a cat-back system from Broadfoot Racing that's 304 Stainless, with 1/2" flange, and heavy duty hangers.

Does anyone have any experience with this exhaust that could recommend it or tell me how it sounds?

And would this exhaust system benefit from a resonator in place of the catalytic converter?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Howabout a stock 951 catback? They are SS and 2.5".

Leave the cat on, there is nothing to be gained there as long as it still works.

Spencer, I appreciate your response, but I still would like to get feedback on the Broadfoot SS Exhaust System and replacing the catalytic converter with a resonator.

Does anyone have a SS cat-back recommendation with or without a resonator?

Thanks...

We are running Broadfoot exhaust on our 87 944S & our 92 968, both are track cars and we are very pleased with them..

I have the Broadfoot exhaust as well as love it. It's loud but I'm fine with that.

Thanks for the feedback on the Broadfoot exhaust, I appreciate it.

Would a resonator, like the stainless steel one from Lindsey Racing, mellow out the tone of your exhaust?

I'm concidering replacing the catalytic converter with a resonator instead of a test pipe.

Thanks again...

If you do swap out, I might want to take the stock catback off your hands.

Hmm, I'm thinking it won't. My cat is still on and it's still loud, so even if you replace the cat with a resonator I don't think it'll change the sound much as I think it has more to do with the muffler used. You might however be able to do it with an exhaust silencer if you can find one that fits (I'm talking about the silencers they install at the muffler tips).

Agree, I have the same set up and it is loud. My cat is still on, but gutted. Driving by myself its not too bad....but if you have a passenger....its a little too loud for conversation IMO.

After a number of attempts to contact Broadfoot Racing to place an order for their SS Cat-back Exhaust System, they have not returned my calls or replied to my e-mails. In fact today when I call I received a message indicating the number has been disconnected.

In light of this recent development, can anyone make another recommendation for a Stainless Steel Cat-Back Exhaust System for a NA 944?

Thanks again...

I have a Speedforce Racing cat-back on mine. High quality piece, didnt' take too long to recieve it. Calling them was much easier than using their website.

Thanks for the advice veleno...I was able to get through to them today and place an order for their SS cat-back exhaust system.

They didn't have one in stock and the soonest they would be able to fabricate one is by the end of next week.

I hope it's worth the wait...I'll keep you posted.
