Default Over spray on my muffler

My car was repainted by the PO and there is over spray (red) on the side of the muffler, and it bugs me. Should I spray the muffler silver, black or leave it alone and wait until I have to replace the muffler with a new one.

Edit - posted a picture

Paint doesn't stick well to dirty surfaces, and I would have a had time understanding why the PO would have cleaned the muffler before taking it in to be painted. I'd try some rubbing compound or other cleaner first.

I sprayed my dirty muffler with black low gloss high temp engine paint. Looks much nicer although I've got the hots for SFR's exhaust.

Yeah my exhaust from the cat back is all glossy black. It looks pretty damn good and dirt isn't as noticable. Chrome is too hard to keep clean.
