Default Ever see a light green 944 Turbo?

Hi Guys,

I currently own a 2002 Carrera Targa but previously I've owned 3 different 944's. A 1986 base model -1988 944S and lastly a 1986 Turbo that was a very interesting light green metallic. I thought at one time that Porsche referred to this color as "celery" but I'm not positive. In the years I owned it 1999-2001 I only found one other the same color (on the west coast) just curious if any of you guys own one this color or know someone that might. It's one of those cars I wish I'd never parted with.

He is talking about Crystal green metallic, available only in 86 and definitely one of the lower production colors. I've never seen one up close.

Yes several pics but all on film and don't currently have a scanner but Dougs951S is it exactly. I purchased it from a guy in R.I. and them after a couple years wound up selling it to a guy from New Jersey. Was just wondering what became of it. Never seen another one the same color. I wonder how many they made?

It might be the lighting but Dougs951S is a dead ringer for mine. The other green 944 pictured appears duller.

Lighting makes a huge difference with this colour. In the right light it looks electric, in the wrong light it can look flat. it can look rich and deep or washed out. Overcast days are hard to make it look great. It will look good, but not great. I usually wait for the gold hour to see how mines looks before photographing it.

Maybe the crystal green is the 1986 Turbo only and the other shade is for non-Turbo models? Found a site teamspeed.com says Porsche has 69 different shades of green. They had a pic of a 928 they said was Crystal green metallic but it didn't look close. They had a 911 with a color they called Mint green metallic that looked very close.

Here's a picture of one located in New Jersey, said to be 1 of 4 CGM Turbos still on the road. I believe it will be on the market soon.

Sounds like Jason Gonzales. Maniac Racing. He rebuilds and sells 944s.

unlikely. cgm is the only green listed for model year 1986.
