What is the best way to ship 4 bare wheels overseas? I've looked into UPS, DHL and IPS parcel and all want over 1k to ship 4 wheels in 2 boxes. That seems insane to me.

the cheapest is always usps regardless of size or weight, just takes a bit longer but it's worth it.

USPS said it was too big to ship, its going to Australia if that matters, since I know they have some weird import size constraints. They are 16" wheels stacked two each in two boxes, so they'd probably end up at least 18-20" on a side and ~35+ lbs each.

Then see how much will they charge you if you pack them individually.

For example ,i had 4 calipers ,4 rotors ,2 spindles and hubs shipped from the US to Italy in a box about the size of a 17x10 wheel and weight was about 30kg , shipping price was in the 100$ range.

I agree. Also, USPS Priority International service has the tracking feature and insurance.

Absolute rip off. 4 Wheels from UK to Australia would be less than $500

I agree. So any other ideas? USPS literally told me "no". Maybe I just have dumb people working at my local office?

Shouldn't be a problem.

I just successfully sent 4 fuchs to Germany. In 2 boxes,18x18x18, via USPS. Costed ~$250 for the whole set. They had no problem with the size, and I have no idea why your USPS would have a problem with it.

USPS is the only way to go and they shouldn't deny you. All other carriers will be a ripoff in comparison.

Box em up and bring em to the USPS store, if they deny you, they shouldn't, and I bet the next nearest USPS store would.

I agree. We use FedEx and DHL into Australia and don't bundle wheels in pairs in the same boxes.

With USPS you will most likely have to ship them individually. Total cost should be in the $400 range.

It really is a bit annoying living on the far side of the world compared to the majority of the 944 community.
That and having all your cars with the steering wheels on the wrong side means some parts aren't compatible (like long tube headers). -.-

I ship a lot of wheels oversees and you should package them separately. It can ship through usps parcel post/standard post. Takes a bit longer but it the cheapest option. Each wheel/box should be about $50

Australia is one of the most expensive places to ship, I doubt anyone here ships 944 parts internationally more than me. The reason why they are telling you no is because you are exceeding the required dimensions, length, girth plus length = total length , each country has limitations for total lenght, express mail allows bigger dimensions
