Default another seats thread Acura GSR?

So like I am sure a lot have torn up seats on my 951, and I am trying to find replacements. A guy locally is selling a set of leather Acura gsr seats, I doubt they are a direct bolt on but anyone have any idea on how well or bad they might fit in there?
Is it possible to just swap bracket and rail hardware from 944 seats to gsr seats?
any help here would be appreciated, thanks

If you buy them, get their seat rails as well. You may be able to fit the whole thing to your car (just in case). If they don't work, then you'll only know when you turn the seats over and figure out how to engineer their seats to your rails. Good luck.

there's probably less work getting them reupholstered then retrofitting seats that aren't as good as the factory recaro seats.

do you think the Porsche will be able to tell? What if I don't tell her they are from a Honda?

The factory seats are Recaro? Even the non sport seats? Thats the first I've ever heard of that. I guess it sort of makes sense, since arn't recaro seats made in stuttgart?

My '78 euro has non original seats that I was told came from an Acura (no idea which one), it was only necessary to drill new holes in the bracket and the Acura rails bolt right in. I had to move them back as much as possible because I was too close to the steering wheel when I bought it... and I'm only 5'8".

Edit - oops wrong forum, my '78 is a 928. Are the 944 brackets similar ?

supposedly the gsr seats are also recaro seats.
And is there a difference in rail distance between the 928 and 944?
Cause if there isn't and all that had to be done for the 928 was drill new holes then it might work out.

The seat frames are the same between the 928 and 944. In fact if you look they have a 928 part number. I run 928gt seats in my S2, they drop in.

Put proper race seats or factory seats in it. Period!

Nothing looks more ghetto than junkyard "other brand" seats in a classic Porsche. Honestly, it's doing stuff like this that keeps the 944 values down!

I could see the desire to swap out the seats if the seats sucked! But honestly all the Porsche seats are great seats. So much so that people want them to put into other projects!

Hey! I love my factory seats but your argument is waaay too harsh.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with putting in a set of seats out of a different car - even if it's a Honda! If you find Honda seats that are 1) cheap 2) comfy 3) fit in the 944, sounds awesome!

I would just make sure the bottom mounts to the new seat are the same distance (width) apart. Then your factory 944 seat rails will just plug n play - maybe requiring drilling holes to line up with the new seat.

As far as the "will it fit" question, most sports car seats will fit in a 944 physically, the only complications come with the rail and mounting. Just to be safe on the physical side, measure the width of the butt of the seat and compare it to a stock seat.

Good luck!
