I think I will take it to my other indie next week. He can diagnose and give me an estimate. Thanks all.

here's a reality check....

why not just take your car to the dealer and say,

"here's my 944. it runs like ****. please fix it, and call me when it's ready."

as in, Jesus, they're the ******** who built it.
Thanks odurandina, I needed a lift.

Hi Austin..
Sorry for your ongoing start issues man..
And paying for an "Experienced Porsche Technician" to change out your thermal switch because "your water pump isn't turning"
is a far worse injury than Odurandina's desire to spare you/us from another decade of fried electrical connection problems..

I often read his posts as good natured ribbing/tongue-in-cheek counterpoints suggesting that as our Porsche/Bosch engine systems
reach their end-of-life, we might at least "consider" newer engine technologies to go another 25 years...
Our Porsches have one of the best chassis dynamics ever so breathing new life into them makes sense; if pockets are deep enough.

For me though, I'd prefer keeping mine "All Porsche"...
That said, considering newer non-M44 solutions is indeed relevent to most any powerplant failure thread.

Questions:
Is your Ignition Coil new?
Have you replaced that Speed Ref Sensor yet? (the gorilla taped one)

Best wishes for your issues..
Mikey

PS: I also noticed this youtube which explains a few tests that can be performed in diagnosis mode.
