Love the Anthracite splitter (GT splitters are nice IMO) HMMMM, maybe mine should be silver. I may be the only one to like the Garnet Racing Wheels.

Is the hood a 931 or........? I like the look of the duct, have you noticed any difference in underhood radiant temps?

ELLSSUU,

Underhood temps might have dropped a little, but nothing that I have been able to keep track of, and yes it is a 931 hood.

But when I get the chance I will be getting rid of the 931 hood and starting on a new project: 968 RS style hood vent for the 951. I figure that there is a lot more to be gained by venting some of the hotter parts of the engine bay than pushing a little bit of cold air over the headers......

I wasn't sure how the garnet racing wheels would turn out, but I think they really look very good. It will give the car a unique stance at the track.

Bryan,

I don't think it will be a perfect match to the Porsche garnet red because it is fact a GMC truck color that I found at pep boys, if I do all 4 wheels then I might have a can of the Porsche color mixed up.....

How much did the paint job cost ya? How much of the prep did you do yourself?
The car looks great though, I've got to get a splitter- was it a pain to install?

The splitter required lots of trimming and still doesn't fit quite right, if I have it painted my a professional then i'll work out the last of the fitment issues, but for now it works....

Paint of the wheels, was 4.99.... I didn't do much prep work because this was a test wheel, i'm having the tires removed this weekend and i'm going to strip the wheels down and get to a nice smooth surface to start with, then i'm going to sand, prime, and paint the two 9 inch wheels that I have and start looking for two more....

David,

Thankfully its the 951, although i've seen a few dyno graphs for VW's with turbo VR6's putting down well into the 400 hp to the wheels range.... It is a fairly efficent little 2.8L motor.....

But the 965 could be the quickest with a little trip to imagine auto, but also for those prices i would have a 968 16v motor put into my car so that really is a moot point....

But at 15psi, the 951 is quicker than the 965 at 14.6 psi (1 bar spring), but the 965 is a bit smoother and the turn in is so much quicker than the 951.....

All three cars fill thier space very well....
