Thumbs up Atlanta GA Porsche 944 Meet & Mountain Run! March 8th!

Last year we held our first Atlanta 944 Meet & Greet, followed by our 'Tail of the Dragon' mountain run the following day..... And it was a SMASHING SUCCESS! So.... Time to do it again!!!

Facebook event page:
Facebook Post

The basic plan: Have a HUGE 944 meet & greet on Saturday evening, March 8th. Then on Sunday morning a nice spirited drive through North Georgia's most crooked roads. The mountain run is optional, but the meet & greet is a requirement.

March 8th: Meet & Greet will be held at 6PM!
Uncle Maddio's Pizza Joint
4745 Ashford Dunwoody Rd, Atlanta, GA 30338
(In the Walmart plaza)
Bring your 924/944/968/928 or Grandma's station wagon if you desire.

March 9th: Spirited mountain run drive. The route will take us through Georgia's most scenic and twisty roads. This route is known as the "Georgia Dragon" and is equally as curvy as the famous Tail of the Dragon, except not as famous.
Meeting point and time is TBD. I will update you guys with more info on when and where to meet. Our usual location is in the town of Dahlonega, GA.

For photos of last year's event, please see this link!

See you there!
-Elliott

I've thought about it, I'm in for both. I'd also be down for meeting at Caffeine & Octane in Alpharetta, I used to live there but have never been to that event. Looking forward to another great meet this year. Thanks Elliott!!

It means showing up is the most important, just get there, doesn't matter what car. What is that character in your cartoon?

I still haven't been to Caffeine & Octane either, but I've seen the photos each month and have heard the hype, and it appears to be a HUGE deal. Might be a fun option for us. Thanks for the input Reid!

Hahaha, I was hoping you would read that! Just a little motivation to get the 951 back on the road

Bro! Bro! 850R wagon > 951 on the cool scale.
Seriously though I did drive it to the gas station Thursday. Didn't shut it off at the gas station, it took several tries to get it to start. I should be ordering the only sensors I haven't replaced yet in a week or so.

Elliot and friends;

fyi,

if you want to catch one more interesting car show (I assume in Buckhead?),

the Gumball 3000 jackwagons are coming to Atlanta from Miami the night of June 5th....

then speeding off to New York the following morning.

so, if you like living on the edge and going real REAL fast,

john the drive... and test your ability.

the Virginia leg vs the cops ought to be especially fun.

hope nobody gets shot.

Josh, indeed you are right. I was told it was the 9th by somebody for some reason and based it off that, but I just looked it up.

Oh well! Meeting up in Dahlonega works out great every time anyways.

Josh - we should try to arrange the cars in order this year, maybe by color? Or at least in a separate line, pick one 944 of each color and make a rainbow?

Well here is the official update for Sunday 3/9: The meeting point for our mountain cruise will be at the Walmart in Dahlonega. The Caffeine & Octane idea would have been great, however it falls on the weekend prior. :/
In reality, Dahlonega is really the best place to pre-meet anyway. So it will work out great as always!
