I definately like it. Would not change it no matter how many people called it rice.

To recap: does it make the car go any faster? If it doesn't, it's RICE.

Porsche dash parts ARE in fact REAL carbon fiber. very nice. I don't think it's rice if it comes from the factory. Carbon fiber is'nt really ricey unless you put it on as the hood, and don't paint it. IMHO riced interiors consist of PAINTED dash parts some completely ugly color...usually the dash parts that are easy to remove.

If that is the case then any of you Porsche owners that want the 968 door handles, alter your shift ***** (unless for a short shifter), paint parts under the hood, want all red taillights, have bigger wheels that are just as heavy or heavier, want the euro bumper, buy German license plates, put stickers on your windows, or anything along these lines - you would be rice. I would say at least 40% of the Rennlisters here are guilty of being rice apparently.

If you like the look of it, do it, you won't be sorry. I want to do it to my car as well. The rice term is getting used WAAAAYYYY too much and being used even more loosely. Rice in my book, is all the kids running 90 inch wheels with 3 inch brakes thinking they are the fastest thing in town with a greasy motor and some stuff under the hood colored with paint markers and an Autozone intake. Rice is tasteless mods or modding for the wrong reasons. There are plenty of nice looking, not too fast non Porsche and Porsche cars that do look god an I don't consider to be rice. I have a CF hood, and I'm leaving it CF too, on a satin black car. Call me rice if you'd like, just make sure you tell everyone you got beat by a riced out 944. There are opinions and there is going too far by calling everything you don't LOVE, rice. So, if YOU like it, do it, it's your car, you have to drive it and that's my opinoin and thoughts. Happy ricing!

I hope you meant to say "improve performance", since brake upgrades and suspension upgrades are not rice. But what about:
Roll cages or harnesses?
New paint, carpet and other asthetic restorations?

If you're running a spec944, then looks don't matter, but if you drive your car on a regular basis, they do. If the interior looks good with CF, then it's a good thing. If it looks gauche, then it's a bad thing.

A ricer is a person who thinks a "brake upgrade" just takes a can of red spray paint.
