Ech .. I wouldn't put any money on it .. that guy could drop his clutch as opposed to you.
Both have LSD's
His comes with more power - but I guess it just depends whose boost can go up higher.
I'd unfortunately say the front a standstill 1/4 mile .. I'd bet for the neon. Ugh, that sounds awful, but that car has 250ft/lbs stock plus very new internals.

Har, har...that's a great analogy.

I think he types like a girl, big deal.

I also think the Neon will dust the 951 down the 1/4 mile.

Sorry I didnt catc this..
Wow
4 page thread for a neon think they should feel honored :-D

I am running 265/35/18's in the rear…

And someone asked if I really have 300tq.
But I should have more torque and horsepower because On the dyne we did it on a third gear roll and only at 16psi when I have run the car at 20psi on race gas, so the car is capable of more than what the dyno says of course.I should have more.

As for the race,I understand for our cars a 1/4 mile is no where near showing its full potential of the car so I am going to up the bet to $500 and
see if he wants to go from a rolling start to 140mph.To see how he stands up.
The neon boys are real confident with they're car and I cant deny it can hold its own but I am confident in our cars up top.
All friendly competition,
I respect any car because in the end we are all car enthusiasts,so there's nothing wrong with a little competition and crap talking between friends sometimes

Remember this will be legal - No Street racing
Ill let you know how everything comes along.

Now you're talking...a race like that and you'll kick the **** out of the Neon.

The true test of whether a car is "fast" or not, should not only be judged by 0-60 and 1/4 mile etc...they have their worth, but a Porsche is also about top speed and getting there.......How many cars can drive for hrs at 160 mph?

Sure lots of cars are as fast as us or faster in these stats, but will they still be there past that point? This is something many people (ricers/street racer/porsche challengers) overlook, fail to realize...they are brainwashed by these magazine stats I think.

I agree with your new race criteria! That will be a better "test" of both cars abilities! Lets see where he is at 140 mph+.

Can a neon do 140mph? I don't know how it's geared, but if it does 140, I'd expect it to be redlining in 6th.

And Red 944, the neon doesn't have an LSD. Don't touch the accelerator on a corner in one.

Well thats what technology is doing.
It seems as if speed is becoming a standard..along side people with no money who have escalades on 22's lol
Ok, great, so the power is the same. Sounds good. My buddy has an older Camaro that is pushing 700 hp. Great. But the question is, is it still as good on the track?

It's like making a Civic with 1,000 HP. Great. But it's gonna suck in the twisties.

Sure the neon can go fast in a straight line, but I've outrun them on the autoX course in my RSX-S.
And over the next ten years, it's going to have problems that make it a hassle to own.

That's how I interpret "It's still a neon". And I agree.

Edit:
Oh...and it's probably a sign of things to come as Detroit tries to enter the sport-compact (ricer to some) market.
I know that the 944 would kill the neon on a course. I was just trying to say that the Porsche brand doesn't help the 944 any more than the Dodge brand hurts the neon. It's all about the engineering that went into the car, not the nameplate in the rear. I interpretted "It's still a neon" as "it won't win because it doesn't have the Porsche mystic." I interpretted it differently than you and dfferently than jabbadeznuts most likely.

make sure we get the results of your race, since the outcome is obviously not unanymous from our opinions.

Oh, I can't believe there's no LSD! My mistake. I just did some searching around and it looks like they'll be one stock in '04. Maybe I saw that and got confused, or maybe I made the whole thing up.

Jurg the only thing to do now is to race.. Seriously though, your close to 290 rwhp. Just don't come back a loser. Represent us

But I've read reviews and for the price their selling it every **** and their mothers will own one of these turbocharged babies. That means endless amount of street racing.

But Jurg, just race the guy, record it, and post it I want to see the results. Stomp on his ***.

Really? I'm shocked. I'd think an LSD would be an expensive addition that would help track performance, but not improve sales (say "LSD" at a Dodge lot, and a Neon buyer will think you're offering him drugs). So I figured they'd never even bother offering it as an option.
