Default New Hope Meet this Sunday, July 20

We are planning to make an early Sunday (20JUL) morning run from New Hope. To avoid traffic, we'd like to meet at 07:00.

proposed meeting venue:
Bagel Club at 20 Commerce Street, Flemington, NJ (908.806.6022). Commerce Street intersects Route 202 about one mile north of Flemington Porsche. There is a traffic light and supermarket (ShopRite?) at the intersection

I need to try out the new lowered suspension..............

And Sean will be there too...............

Frank (993 C4S)

As well as 03C4S................

Amer (On the end)...........

Adrial,
996 Turbos are not particularly well suited to AXing. Plus, the Meadowlands are on the other side of the state. I can't speak for the others but I can't afford any tickets so I will be taking it relatively easy.
Can you make it? Get your consortium together and make a good showing!

Flemington to meadowlands is hour trip according to mapquest.

Flemginton is 2 hours away from me...quite a trip. Especially to be there at 7am. That would mean leaving at 5am...just too early, even to hang out with some cool 996 & 996TT's. Especially with a friend's graduation party the day/night before...

One of these days we need to do a complete Rennlist Porsche gathering in the Jersey/NY area....It seems everything I try to put together is only 944's and maybe a 911 or boxster. I hope this isn't because the other Porsche owners think we're "lowly" Porsche owner wannabee's. It'll have to happen around noon or later though to get a decent turnout.

Oh, back to the autocross. There were 2 996TT's at the last event. One of them did pretty well, the other was driven by someone who didn't have much if any DE/autocross experience it seemed. It couldn't hurt to try, right??

I encourage everybody else to go to this one, though. Don't be shy!! Notice Ken used to have a 951...he's not evil. We're all Porsche owners...lets be friendly! Show these guys how cool 944 owners are.

A,
The hour from Flemington is probably about right but we are heading in the opposite direction just over the NJ/PA border into PA and traveling north next to the river on the PA side.
I agree about the need/desire to get everyone together but it quite a monumental task. I guess it isn't as important to some people as it is to others.
Yes, I used to own a 944 Turbo. I really enjoyed that car. From a driving perspective, it was a really balanced car. Not quite as fast as the current steed though! I sold it in the condition below 4 years ago with 200K on the clock and mint interior for around $6,800.00 to a couple in PA near Philadelphia if I recall correctly. Here are a few pics:

And no, we are not evil!

Ken,

Whats the plan beyond starting in New Hope? I'll try and make it up from Philly but 7 seems a little early.

Not sure I'll be able to keep with all these 911s, especially in my go-slower dirty Guards Red 944 NA.

Cheers

Martin

Martin,
We are starting in Flemington, NJ, driving south on Route 202 to New Hope, NJ and then driving north on the PA side of the Delaware. The roads are going to be chosen by Sean. He has some great ones in mind. We will make our way up to Easton, PA and then I am not sure what will happen.
At the very least, you should meet us in New Hope. I am not sure if we will be driving through it or simply exiting Route 202 there to head north. If you plan to attend, we can work out the details of the hook-up.

Just wanted to bring this to the top of the list as one final call for participants in our little get-together tomorrow. Will anyone be joining us? Anyone???

Ken.. I should be in Flemington sometime in Mid August. Perhaps we could drum up some interest for another GTG? I'd love to meet you guys.

If I can get my father on the ball... I might be able to persuade him to finish his 3.2 Supercharged/Intercooled SC Cab. It's a bit from being complete, but if he can get it tuned, it is drivable.

Anyway.. I'll post on the 996 forums when I get that date set in August.
