opinion on these used ground control coilovers please!
Hi guys , I'm about to pull the trigger on these used front ground control coilovers but when the current owner sent me pics of the coilovers on the car I noticed the massive gap between the spring and the top hat. I've seen springs droop down a few mm from the top hat but not this much.
Do the GC coilovers usually come with a 10" springs? Apparently these are Qa1 springs 450lbs. You can see the ride high in the second picture, apparently the guys tracked it like that which kind of scares me .I know you can adjust the collars to wind up the spring but from what I see till the spring reaches the top had it will almost be at the end of the threads.
Let me know what you think
Cheers

FYI those are not the ground control front struts they look like late cut Koni insert struts with a sleeve fitted. To answer your question, all coilovers do that when off the ground unless they have a helper spring fitted.

+1 I have helper Hyperco helper springs from Paragon Products with Eibach 2.5" couplers. Ground Control coilovers come with Eibach springs. That is not the same design as Ground Control's

The whole car looks kinda messy. Not sure what that says, if anything, about the struts.
Doesn't look like he has any aftermarket strut tops on there, look like stock rubber.
Take care,
