A/ C removal.
Has anyone removed their air conditioning? I know there is a kit that adds a bracket and idler. Would it not be possible to just remove the pump and use a shorter belt? If anyone has done this what size belt did you use?

There is a different bracket to mount the alternator when no A/C is present. Jason at Paragon has a good price and package of the little extras to make installation easier. The alternator gets moved down to the previous compressor location.
You can't make the A/C bracket work as easily (nor as cheaply I suspect) as the factory non-A/C bracket.

I want to remove the a/c because it doesn't work and is too expensive to repair. It isn't hot enough where I live to really need it anyway. Sooo, from my point of view I am just hauling along dead weight. Thanks for the info.

I am in the process of removing my AC and have found a simple way to do it. The upper bolt can become the pivot to tension a shoter belt, and the lower bolt can be replaced by either a new tensioner or the existing tensioner from the AC modified. The aftermarket kits I believe lower the alternator which helps lower cg, but this is cheap and easy and you can still use the cooling duct with no mods. I haven't run this yet, but there should be no problems. If your AC is not working it is not a bad idea to get rid of it as the bearings in the clutch could sieze and cause trouble. AC compressor weighs about 10 lbs.
