![Question](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
i recently replaced the hood on my 951 and it didn't come with the hood pad underneath when i purchased it. has anyone used something other than the hood/sound pad that porsche catalogs typically carry? i.e. has anyone ever used a "quiet" or "cooling" spray-on material, or dynamat, etc.
just wondering what would be my options....
thanks for your input :-)

Quite a few later 951s didn't come from the factory with the hood liner. There is the weight consideration and a bare hood is probably a better heat sink when the car is stopped.
Once the car gets going about 20 mph the engine bay cools off substantially. I'd try the new hood as it is and leave it unless you think the noise is too much, which I would find hard to believe.
