911SC vs 928S4 vs 944 Turbo, which to buy?

Oh what the heck, I'll throw in my two cents. Since I had this same delima a little over a year ago.
First of all, drive them all like it was suggested. I did, and was impressed by them all. Second, make a list of your wants and needs. I took a set of golf clubs around with me when I started looking. They had to fit or it was no sale.
Third, be practical. Can you do the maintenance? or Can you afford to have someone do it for you? I chose the first.
For the record, I bought 2 - 86 951 in the last year for $8500 each. One had 60k the other had 70k. Maintenance bills have been minimal. Upgrades have cost me a bit (about $3k), but now it's peforming better than a TurboS with much less overall cost.
Oh, and don't forget the Fun Factor!

damn this thread is getting long! I second Dave951M on what he says... Me, I am catching up fiercely on the research thing (loving it!). I bought my car and then did research, instead of the other way around. Fortunately, the example that I bought was in good shape. Lucky for me, I didn't know a thing about what I was getting into.
Ditto on what DanD said about the maintenance. Either have the knowledge and/or skill to do it yourself or be very well aware how much repair, maintenance, and upgrades can be if there are things that you'll need a mechanic to do.
There are a number of typical things that I found on a similar posting. I've gone almost thru half of this small list. (this is by no means complete - but here goes): timing belt; waterpump; front suspension (A-arms); shocks/struts; AC; steering rack; clutch; and brakes. I haven't been too shocked just yet, but I'm sure the amount of money that I have been putting into my car isn't for everyone. nonetheless, i greatly appreciate the engineering of my car (such an understatement!) and wouldn't hesitate to get another one. YMMV!
