How do I install an aftermarket shift ****?
Is there a way to install an aftermarket shift **** into our cars? I remember seeing an adapter on pelican but can't find it anymore. I searched the forums and no luck there either. Without changing the oem stalk, is it even possible?

As far as I know, no.
I had bought a "momo short shifter" off ebay once. It was just an oem rod modified. What they did was grind down the rod til it would fit inside a 1/2"(??) socket, then the socket that was correct radius to fit inside the momo **** was glued to the rod. Kinda ghetto but it worked.

about 4 years ago, I put a 997 **** on my 968....
no adaptor needed. just follow my how to; https://rennlist.com/forums/968-foru...uld-to-it.html
so easy a cave man can do it.
you can run a 986 boxstah **** on a 944.
Carl Fawcett at 928 Motorsports has these cute adaptors.

third photo is the rare, momo carbon aftermarket Boxstah ****...
and the last photo is an ultra-rare (unobtanium) 996TT all-black carbon ****
that can easily be installed in a 968 (if you can find one).

I couldn't find the adapters on the 928 site...
It's looking like there's not many options for an aftermarket ****, unless you spend $200 at LR for this: http://www.lindseyracing.com/LR/Part...HIFTLEVER.html
or you make it yourself (modify/weld a new round shaft).
Does anyone else make a a shaft similar to the LR part?

Just to update this thread...
I found an adapter that would allow me to install almost any aftermarket shift ****. What a great idea!

i was looking for exactly the same thing. perfect. now, what secures the adapter to the shifter rod? meaning, if you sleeve the adapter over the shift rod and then secure the ****, via the set screw, to the adapter, what's holding the whole thing together - simple tension?
how long is the adapter? aftermarket ***** can have different depths inside and i'm curious what happens if the set screw location winds up past the sleeve adapter. the set screw wouldn't be long enough to secure against the shift rod. i have a weighted **** from UUC that i'm hoping to use.

I went to automotion.com picked up a momo adapter and momo ****. I had to modify the shift boot at the shift ****, and in my case, I cut the stock shifter 1 inch. I was pleased with the results.
