Post Remove instrument cluster?

How do you do it? I searched everywhere, even Pelican parts, and can't find anything. No tech session, not 944 Garage article...

Help?

Thanks,
Matt

actually pretty easy. 4-5 screws for the cluster itself and then 3 by your vents. Take all the screws out then the main piece comse out. Then 4 more screws for the cluster itself. Becareful not to drop them. Then 3 wire brackets disconnect from the back. Once disconnected you have to play with it carefully. Wiggle it to the right and out. first time I did it was a bit of a pain but have since done it several times really fast no problem. If you want to make it a bit easier to take out you can mess with the steering wheel but it isnt needed.

It's easy. remove all of the screws that are in the plastic panel and vents, there is one in the vent where the speedo reset is and two under the top dash above the speedo and tach that screw up...just look around on the plastic you will find them, pull off the panel with the vents carefully.....you then have the instrument cluster exposed and there are 4 screws holding it in with 3 ribbon cables connected to the back one to the left and two to the right. I have read where you have to remove the steering wheel but I didn't have to.

The guys are right on the money! Just did mine too and its very easy. The only thing I would add is when the gauge cluster starts to come out you will find little plastic "jacking" arms on both ends of the ribbon connectors. Gently, don't muscle it, move them in or out (can't remember) and they help you push the connector off the cluster. Go for it!

There's an article on late dash removal in the tech section. It covers removing the instrument cluster.
