Smile Wheel Questions

I have a 91 944S2 Cab and I know the wheel offsets are 52.3mm at all four corners. Porsche also allows for 55mm up front for my car. I would like to know from anyone out there if 55mm rear offset will fit properly on the rear of my car. It seems like it would, 55mm-52.3mm is only 2.7mm difference. I can't imagine that causing a problem with the contact patch. I also doubt that there is even an adapter plate made that thin. Any thoughts? I am asking because I am looking at putting 996 Carrera 4 factory rims/tires on my car. The 996 is 55mm all the way around (at least the C4 is).

TIA,
Max

Max, C4 wheels should fit just fine. A 2.7 mm difference is not much at all. I know people on this list have used 55mm offset wheels on their cars with no problems. Backspacing is plentiful for a 9" wheel in the back, and 7.5" in the front (I assume you are going to use 17" wheels). I think if you run a 8.5" wheel in front, you may run into problems with clearing the front springs, in which case you would just need to get smaller diameter springs. Anyone else have ideas on this?

Just curious."rfuerst944s" I've got an '87 944 that I'd like to put those same 993 wheels on that you mentioned. Can you give me an idea on the most economical way to acquire them? I've seen a whole array of prices. Thanks in advance and thanks for the "fit" inof, it will be helpful. -Dan
