Post converting 87 944na from automatic to manual trans.

I have a 1987 944na with an automatic transmission. I was wondering how much it would cost to convert it to a manual transmission. My car is such low mileage that I would rather keep it and convert it to manual as opposed to buying a new one with a manal. Any parts/labor costs would be greatly appreciated, seeing as I am only a shadetree mechanic. Thanks.

Lot's of issues there. Besides the new transaxle, you'll need a new torque tube, and shifter obviosly. Then you need to drill through the firewall, to mount the clutch pedal. I'm also under the impression that the rear of the motor where the torque tube connects is different between the two. Then you have to buy new CV axles (left and right), as the auto uses different length axles than the manual. Finally, you either have to plug the auto tran lines holes in the radiator, or buy a new manual speed radiator. So, are you still interested?

I have an auto also.

I've also thought about installing a 968 tiptronic, but it's still to costly
