Check the paint code in your trunk. If you're "LY 7U" , you're stone like me.

And it only lists slate grey and "graphite" as grey metallic colors for the 944, 85 and/or 86. Cars listed as graphite on the web appear to be a very very dark grey. I haven't checked the actual color code on mine (85.5 NA) yet, since it's not arriving until saturday, but I suspect it's the same color as yours, it looks the same, and it's not a repaint.
I'll get a picture of it then, too.

Slate Grey Metallic LY 7U
It's error in that source. I am using workshop manuals and the paint codes book form a local body shop. LY 7U is stone grey metallic. And in my opinion, Stone is much nicer than slate.

Adrial, since you have that height adjustable suspension on your car, why not drop it an inch or two? The car looks great, but it would be even tricker lowered about 1 inch. Ps, if you have difficulty lowering the car and get "frausturated", I could always take it off your hands .

I would, but according to what Danno has written in previous threads about handling...lowering the car actually decreases the handling capability of the car...if not that, then at the very least increases body roll.
It would look pretty sweet...but I'd also have to worry more about getting a jack under it (one i have barely fits the way it is) and scraping the airdam (already pretty scraped up by the PO).

Well, I'm not sure if I totally agree with you Adrial. As far as I'm concerned lowering these cars is very beneficial to handling as long as it is coupled with stiffer springs and shocks to accomodate the lowered suspension. However, I certainly recognize that on many cars there is a point of diminishing marginal utility at which lowerering will no longer aid the car in handling. Same rule applies with tire profiles. Lower profile is not always better. In fact, Road and Track had an article about this around 6 months ago and they found that for most practical purposes a 45 series tire was the most ideal and handled the best. If you don't believe me consider stock cars, F1 cars, Indy Cars etc. You don't see any rice boy 30 series tires on those. However, I digress... Lower is generally better due to the physics of gravity but can make the autmobile difficult to control if its not complemented with other appropriate mods. So what does this all mean: Only lower if you can afford the bells and whistles that go with it. Otherwise you are wasting money (and possibly trashing that expensive German suspension <img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[nono]" /> )

The turbo S's suspension allows it to be lowered/raised very easily, assuming there's enough room to move in the eccentrics at the rear. Even if its not..its just a question of reindexing the T-bars.
