my friend wants a pioneer 6400 and he is about to pay like a ton of money to get it installed at best buy....

You need pliers, wire, a razor or (much easier) a wire stripper, electrical tape, butt connectors and a crimper/solder and soldering iron/twist-style connectors, a wiring diagram and about 2 hours.
Don't waste money letting Best Buy do it unless you're positive you'd be unable to do it yourself.
