Default Front suspension improvements

1987 base 944, power steering, new front sway arm bushings

My 944 seems a little light and"loose" when driving aggressively. There is no play in the steering. I dont know what I should look at first. I cant drop a bunch of cash on it right now so I am looking for some relatively low cost improvements. the shocks and struts seem ok, no excessive bounce or dive as far as I can tell. control arm bushings maybe? are bushing replacements available now without having to replace the whole arm? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated...

What size sways? If not 25.5/16 or better I'd try to get to that size bar or better.

What does your alignment look like? Feeling light and loose could simply be a symptom of not enough caster. I had the same issue and playing with the caster got the car feeling rock solid. Try that first, its free if you know how to use a measuring tape.

Take it to a proper shop that knows what they're doing... and have them look it over and do an alignment. They'll tell you if something is worn out.

Things to check:
-Wheel bearings
-Control arm ball joints
-Control arm bushings
-Caster mounts
-Camber mounts
-Steering shaft u-joints
-Steering rack bushings
-Inner tie-rod ends
-Outer tie-rod ends

And, then, of course, the rear suspension has it's own share of bushings/bearings, too.

Having an alignment done if the suspension isn't 100% is money wasted... And, having the suspension all good, but being out of alignment, is also bad.

The short answer is: you need both.
