I was told to ask here when I needed a DME. I have asked for help. Maybe I wasn't clear. As a reminder the DME is the Digital Motor Electronics module (engine computer or brain).
I need a DME for an 85 1/2 naturally aspirated 944. The numbers on the module are as follow:
0 261 200 058
944.618.121.02 (I don't know what others will work)
The problem is an engine surge from 800 to 1700 rpm. I have (with reasonable certainty) eliminated the TPS and AFS from the equation.
Please provide information on a module that I can beg, borrow or buy. If all else fails - I will be forced to buy one from Vertex for $480. I'm hoping that someone here will step up and help.
Thanks,
Scott

Thanks Dwight,
I'll be in touch. The number you sent me had a 248 area code. I'll try 810 since I see you list your location as Utica. You won't regret it! If I fry - I buy. Plus you can use me as a source of information and help. I do a lot of autocrosses and rallies in the Detroit area. Let me know if you want to get started (if you aren't already).
