Winner. We disconnected the vacuum line @ the booster to check for vacuum, and found that the other end wasn't plugged in its spot under the intake manifold. Plugged that in and viola.

The vacuum line runs under the intercooler plumbing. You can see the "heater" marking on the vacuum hose...


Much appreciated all the help, beyond bleeding brakes, my research and investigation of the issues you all present made me learn way more than I would have thought.

And I got a clutch feeder line installed, and learned my bmc install was done ok. That's a bit rewarding for this noobie.
