Bump in honor of those no longer here. Also so those here now can get a glimpse of what happened here ten years ago today.

I have an appointment next week to see how my lungs are doing ten years later. With all the labels being thrown around latetely I am trying to figure out if I am a victim or a survivor or neither?

Silence noted and a prayer said for the 9-11 families. Also sincere thanks to all the
brothers and sisters in arms keeping our freedoms guarded.

Thanks for bumping this thread, Tom. Being six years old during the attacks, I'm on the edge where most of my older friends remember this event vividly, and most of my younger friends hardly remember at all. Reading some of these posts brought me back in time, and brought back the faint memories that I did have.

My daughter learned today that I was where the action happened when it happened ten years ago.

Denver and Colorado had a memorial in the park by the state house today. We were across the street at the art museum and unknowingly went to the park when the Beach Boys started playing.

Towards the end my wife told me there is a chunk of the towers on the side of the stage. I wandered over and reflected a while. I walked back to the group I came with and couldnt watch the show with that chunk of building there, so I went back to the piece.

My wife and daughter follwed me. My wife asked one of the uniformed people guarding the wreckage what building it was from. When she said North Tower my wife told her i was there that day, and that I previously worked in the North Tower.

I was invited to go behind the rope, told I could touch the wreckage, and stay and reflect as long as I wanted to. I first went alone for a few moments and was approached by a guard who was told I could be there and touch. We spoke a few minutes. Then I brought my 8 year old daughter there and started to explain about 9/11. She learned a little about it in school. I asked her if she wanted to touch it she said she wanted to touch the part of the elevator motor on the trailer.

I told her to kiss her fingers after she touched it like they do with the torah. next thing you know I looked up to see an official photographer taking a picture of me touching the wreckage while holding my daughter. That was one semi posed picture that I could not smile for!

Here we are walking to the piece of the wreckage. Yes, I am wearing a life is good shirt. Pretty ironic! Look at the tension in my left hand.

I spent 2 days at Ground Zero with the American Red Cross, I stood 30' from the globe in the plaza between the towers the morning after, I walked through, saw and felt it all, so far my health is ok (check up every year) I shot miles of video tape that I have donated to the 911 museum (don't know if it will be shown or archived) 10 years latter I still cry for the Patriotism and the emotions I see from the people, I lose a customer that day...... I saw the best in man and the in man that day......"In out darkest hour we shine brightest"

She was freaking out saying "they couldnt get out, the couldnt run" etc. On the elevator a co worker was taking another co worker to the WTC to confirm he sister that works(d?) for Deutsche Bank was ok.

When I got outside and saw 2WTC on fire, I was looking at the area my desk was, which was above the gaping hole in the side of the building, and was asking myself if the firm I used to work for left after the '93 bombing. I saw a helicopter circling the building, and what I thought was another cessna circling 1WTC. Then, suddenly I saw flames shoot out of the 1WTC. I guess I saw about 500 or more people die in that quick flash of a few seconds. Cool huh? I dont think so!

I went back to my office, packed up my desk, and hopped on a subway towards Brooklyn with a co worker that went to the top floor of our building to see the "cessna" when he and a bunch of my co workers saw the second plane hit the building. When I saw the flash I didn't know what I saw, he knew what just happened.

Those of us that read more than just these discussion boards have seen an undercurrent coming out of Washington that we need a war to get military spending bills passed. I'm over 35 so I'm too old to be drafted, but I'm young enough to remember the draft. It's Vietnam II coming to a theater near you, only this time its atomic!

How many "degrees of separation" will it be for each of us to someone that died today?

Refreshing this for those that are curious to know what I and some other 944 owners were thinking/saying 20 and 10 years ago today. Still got the crap on my lungs, and the answer to how many degrees of separation is 1st at least three for me.
