these are out of an 81 911. Are they "Sport seats"? The back bolsters look like it but the seat part doesn't? In either case, I assume they will go in an early 944 without too much problem?

The seat bottom shoulders don't look like sport seats but then the 911 was different than the dimensions of the 944.

No. Those are not sport seats. Neither the back nor bottom. Sorry, lol.

As for fitment, I don't know.

They are definitely not sport seats.
911 and 944 seats are identical aside from the combinations of leather/vinyl/cloth they came in .
The will fit early 944's exactly as the stock seat would and even late 944's if you enlarge the mounting holes from M6 to M8 .
