Talking 944 Turbo RS !!!!!!

posted 01-21-2002 19:57
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://boards.rennlist.com/upload/gary951turbors.JPG

Hey Guys,

please check the above link.

Firstly keep the laughs quiet about my picture modding efforts!! It's the first time I've ever tried and it's only a quick 5 minute effort! Can you tell?

Anyway I've decided after drooling over the 968 turbo rs for just so long( I know the guy who owns the only one in the UK) that I'm going to try and make my 944 into something along that theme.

I've already got the factory 3 piece rear spoiler, a front splitter, 968 mirrors, door handles and the 3 piece speedlines of the 968 turbo rs on my car. If anyone would like a picture to see how this stuff looks then let me know and I'll take some.

After reading the threads on the 924/944/951/968 forum I've decided to go for the intercooler vent and NACA ducts from Fitzgeralds in Australia (you can no longer buy this stuff from Porsche in Weissach) and fit them on the 944.

Please have a look at my "paint" effort and let me know what you think of the idea, good or bad!! I'd just like to make the car look a bit more aggressive. My car is a titanium grey colour.

Cheers,

Gary

I think the 951 looks great stock. And if you are considering mods, keep up what you are doing and install factory designs & parts to keep it from looking riced out.

I think the vented nose panel combined with the intercooler vent in the hood is ideal in terms of getting max air through the intercooler.

Aerodynamically...hell I Have no idea.
But with both of those vents...the intercooler would basically be sitting out in the open...max cooling, max power.

I think that adding naca ducts to the factory's smooth hood would significantly raise the drag coefficient. But I bet the added engine bay cooling would would make up for that.

Gary C2 UK,

I'd love to see pics of your current set-up, as that's about where I'd like to stop with mine (Guards Red as well). Let's see it!
