Big Brakes for an Early 85 944
I am attempting to upgrade the brakes on my early 85 944. As far as the front goes there are only two options: change out the entire front end and replace it with the turbo suspension, hubs, spindel and so on, or fashion my own adapters. I think I am going to go with the later, it is a bit cheaper. The rear is what is really giving my the problem. I know that the turbo rotor will fit on the early hub because the e-brake and the stud pattern are the same on both of the cars. I also know that the rear calipers were the same for all n/a 944's 83-89. My question is now, does a 951 use the same spindle as the n/a 944? If it does in theory one should be able to take a turbo or turbo s rear caliper and change the rotor and have turbo brakes in the rear. If anyone has any experience with this please help me. Thank You

I received an e-mail from George at 944ecology today. This is what he wrote:
Yes, the rear brake calipers will fit on the rear brake carrier.
You will need new rear rotors to fit onto the NA hubs. The hubs use the
NA spindles and NA bearings, so the only parts in the rear you need
to change are the caliper and the rotor.
Good Luck!
